Aloha is most commonly known as the Hawaiian word for a greeting, but it has a much deeper meaning…it is a way of life, an expression of love and gratitude and is literally translated of ‘joyfully sharing life’. During my time in Hawaii I came across so many more different meanings and translations of this one word and I truly learned to appreciate what the aloha spirit is all about…it is a way of life that embraces all kinds of love and supports the idea of living each day to the fullest..a shoutout to the love of life 🙌❤️
With this in mind, I left the desert for an unforgettable journey across the globe and all the way to paradise🌴 The place I found love became my ultimate mecca of happiness, not only for its incredible beauty and astonishing nature but also for its healthy&active lifestyle and its super positive vibes. When I first came to the island a few years back, I was immediately captivated by its mesmerizing spirit and so I secretly always knew that eventually I will return. And so I embarked on a long and very tiring -but totally worth it- plane ride all the way to:
And what can I say…I definitely did not get disappointed at all…from mountain hikes over serious off-roading and getting the ultimate sailing experience as well as surviving risky surf adventures, up to the the most romantic sunset views, epic star gazing and flying across the islands, I truly lived the entire spirit of aloha and more…I really had an unforgettable time with the best company one could ever wish for and I am so very grateful for all the memories we made together. I usually travel on my own so sharing all these precious moments with somebody else so close by my side was a whole new world to me, but with aloha on my mind I got to have one of the most amazing times of my life.
Another thing that I truly love about Hawaii and its people is the fascinating history of voyagers and the strong influence of the Polynesian culture as well as the volcanic landmarks and their preservation for nature and sacred places. Not only do people value and appreciate their land here, but they also actively involve in its conservation, which I find very remarkable and inspiring. That’s why it is important to realize that Hawaii has so much more to offer than its famous Waikiki beach along with being one of the world most famous surf spots. I truly saw it from a different perspective and do recommend to everyone to get out there and explore a little, rather than simply being taken in by its tourist attractions.
Being described as a ‘geological wonderland’ anyone who loves the outdoors will immediately fall in love with its natural beauty and the laid-back island lifestyle mixed with a great American influence and a very rich and diverse cultural heritage.
But the best thing to do is to just go and see it for yourself, I promise you won’t be disappointed 😉 I also always check out lonely planet for some helpful travel tips and vital information in advance:
I highly recommend to also explore some of the other islands and maybe do some camping or off-roading. But whatever you do always remember to enjoy&have fun🤙🏽
A shoutout to the AMORE of ALOHA🙌❤️
